Easy DIY linen and room spray

Hello there!

We worked all weekend in the garden, preparing the soil and selecting seed placement and starts. With the warmer temps we have had the past few days I realized how much I have missed my dirt and seeds.

It’s not time to plant most things yet, but a few flowers and veggies can be direct sown into the soil any time now where we are at. Spring is such an exciting time, and a great time to organize and deep clean in preparation for the warmer months.

While I somewhat patiently wait for the seed starts to come thru the dirt, I am continuing to work on one space at a time around our home.

Washing all the linens and slipcovers, and bringing out my favorite duvet cover made me realize it has been too long since I had a good linen and room spray.

Some of them smell wonderful, but I often wonder if all of the ingredients are good for us, and set out to come up with something my family likes too.

I ordered these amber glass spray bottles from Amazon, they are so pretty and feel a bit luxurious, while still being affordable too.

Anything that I can reuse over and over is a win for me!

This comes together so fast, I was spritzing this wonderful, refreshing scent all over in no time. Here is what I used:

16 ounce glass spray bottle and spray nozzle, 4 ounces of rubbing alcohol (you can also use witch hazel or plain vodka) 50 drops of lavender essential oil and 40 drops of rosemary essential oil. Distilled water.

Start by adding your oil to the rubbing alcohol, it will stay blended better if you do it in this order. Add to the spray bottle and top off with water until your bottle is just about full.

Note that you will want to give the spray a little shake each time you use it, and a reminder to test a small area before spraying on fabrics. I love to use this on our bed linens, couches, curtains, and just in the air occasionally for a light scent in each room. There are so many combinations for oils but I chose this one as these are my favorites, smelling so fresh and clean together.

My sister is a French teacher so I should have known how to spell lavender and rosemary in French, but thank you Google for your help as always. I fine tip gold marker using the labels these bottles came with gave it a sweet extra touch.

Well, now we have our own linen spray that one, we know what the ingredients are, and two we saved quite a bit by making it ourselves!

I hope you are having a wonderful week my friend, stay tuned for our laundry room refresh (boy does it need one!) and a pretty paper wreath that will make your spring decor pop!

Hugs, xx Tanya
