Are you seeing signs of spring where you live? I found our little cherry blossom buds blooming on their branches,
and tiny daffodils reaching for the sun, getting a bit taller each day.  Do you get a little flurry of excitement when
you see those first blooms and longer days? I sure do, they are so welcome.  Restoration for a winter-weary
soul, renewal, and new life.  The whole process, and the art that is created because of it, just makes me happy!
I know we still have a few days before St. Patrick’s Day, but Easter is just a hop (hee hee) skip and a jump away, and
that means some awesome Easter DIY home decorating and crafting are on the horizon.  A bedroom makeover,
some new spring fashion, and a painted dresser or two.  I think I can do it!
Ok, ready to get your polka dot on & make a pretty Easter Banner?
Let’s fire up the glue guns…
Here is what I used to make this Happy Easter banner:
  • 1/2 yard of burlap, pressed and cut into rectangles about 4″ by 6″
  • Aqua acrylic craft paint
  • Round sponge paint pouncer
  • Hot glue
  • Contrasting baker’s twine (I used white and orange)
  • Narrow ribbon
  • Styrofoam glittered eggs (I picked up two packages at Dollar Tree)
  • Chipboard scrap book letters (Jo-Ann’s)

Directions:

After I pressed and cut my burlap rectangles, I used the round paint pouncer to create a polka dot pattern on each
piece of burlap, allowing them to dry well before I cut the triangle out of the bottom of each.

I used hot glue to attach each burlap piece, to the baker’s twine about and inch apart, securing with hot glue and
folding the top over for a clean edge.  Next I used a dab of hot glue on the back of the letters and attached them to
the burlap, then tied the glittered eggs in between each piece of burlap, and at the ends.

All done!! Here are those flowers I mentioned, I might have missed some of them if the kids hadn’t have run in and
told me they were blooming.  It happens so fast!

I totally love this! I have some burlap leftover from my last burlap project (a burlap table runner), so I will have to give this a try! So pretty and cute! Great idea.
