Our homes are an extension of our being and heart.
We laugh there, snuggle there, make new friends, and connect with old friends there.
We cook, make, move things around, and formulate so many of our hopes and dreams in theses spaces we can home. That’s why it’s important for us look for things that inspire us continually, and then put our own brand on it. My worst decorating fear is that my home will look “decorated” , I hope this never happens!
It’s so fun to see multiple people be given the same project or materials, and see how very unique and different the outcome of each can be.
I was recently invited to work with Sauder on their Style Lab feature within their amazingly inspiring site. Within these pages you find tons of beautiful photos, ideas, and how each of us as bloggers has taken our favorite Sauder pieces and created a space in our home that reflects our taste and the things we love.
Sauder enables busy people to find stylish affordable pieces for their home that are timeless enough to look amazing, but current and spot on to make your space pop.
Check out how I used my Nico Accent Chair in three different spaces in my home.
I love the Nico chair in my living room, it makes a perfect accent piece beside my apple green dresser we use as a media center.
I moved it upstairs to a little corner of our playroom that I have carved out for writing and paired it with this vintage desk. And some fresh flowers from our yard make me happy when I am typing away.
In the third area I wanted to create a serene spot for reading, or just relaxing. Pull up a pouf and unwind after a busy day with some tea and a good book. Just my style.
Mixing new and old, inherited and thrifted, painted and upcycled, is the way I have found my perfect Modern Bohemian Style.
Creating a home you love to share and enjoy doesn’t need to blow your budget. A few stylish pieces and a mix of things you love and are interested in is exactly what homemaking really is.
We are making a home, turning our surroundings into something that reflects us, that is so beautiful and unique to each one of us.
I hope you have a wonderful, creative day friends. I challenge you to do something you think is risky like painting one wall your favorite color ever. Spray paint a lamp fuschia and mix patterns that you love.
And whatever you do, don’t second guess yourself, just go for it. I want to hear about what you love right now. How would you describe your style?
