Farmhouse style laundry room makeover reveal!

This makeover was a long time coming, and I am so super excited to share it with you!

Our laundry room has no natural light, and it’s under the stairs so the angles are challenging.

We began by gutting the room & giving it a nice deep clean.

Initially we were going to use a paint that is a bit darker with more blue, but ended up opting for a light grey.

With a busy family of five, and lots of laundry to do each week, we knew we wanted a laundry folding station.

We used 1″ x 4″ pine along the three walls the folding station sits on.  Making sure to secure it to the studs in each wall.

Next we measured a sheet of plywood, leveled it on both sides, and supported the center with another 1″ x 2″ piece between the washer and dryer.

We white washed, the plywood and I used a Stencil in a dark grey with acrylic paint, sealing it with a water based Varathane.

We used used 1″ x 2″ pine around the front edge and stained with a grey stain, we used just a bit so you can still see the warmth of the pine peeking thru.

Using 12″ x 18″ tiles leftover from another project, we created a tall back splash, with weathered grey grout.

We installed free floating grey stained wood shelves along both walls, and Troy built the laundry drying system from the same stained wood and electrical conduit.  We found that they were much more affordable than stainless steel tubing and they will not rust, bonus!

I found this wood berber rug that fit perfectly, and added a few accents to create a functional but pretty space to be.

If you have to fold laundry you may as well enjoy your surroundings right?

And while the laundry is still there, and needing to be done on the regular, having a functional space that I love to be in sure does help!

Thank you so much for reading friend, as always, may your heart and home be full of everything you love…
