Hello friends!
This post was all set to be out last Monday, but my week completely got away from me and well here we are. Better late than never right?
After what seems an eternity of overcast days and rain here in the Pacific NW, I am happy to announce that we have SUN and warmer days in our forecast.
My daffodils are up in our yard and flower boxes, and the days are blessedly getting longer. With the sun pouring thru the windows in the afternoons, I find myself tucking any evidence of winter away and working on one area at a time getting ready for the warmer months.
There is a lot of work to do in the garden, and many seeds to plant, all a lot of work but enjoyable and fruitful work for sure. I love this time of year, all of the planning and labor takes a while to reap a reward. But when it does, it is spectacular to see all of beauty, delicious fresh food, lovely flowers, all from one tiny seed.
I have been thinking about it lately and I realized that perhaps the greatest reason Spring is so inspiring for us is the hope that it brings. During the long weeks of winter with cold temperatures and little sun, I often remind myself it wont be long until signs of Spring are everywhere.
Reminders of God’s love and faithfulness, and encouragement to forge ahead even when only rain is in the forecast are the stuff that hope is made of.
I have been looking for a large wall basket for ages, patience paid off yet again, and I found this one for only $7.99 at a Goodwill in Portland last weekend. The lamp I have had forever, the shade from Target but you know the lamp itself was thrifted too.
I have heard it said that thrift stores are sad places to some, filled with others people’s junk. I have to laugh a bit when I pull up on the side of our local Goodwill to donate, then loop around only to park and seek out new treasures inside.
The white platter had no significant markings on it but it was a red color tag so I got it for $1.50, and I love the simple yet elegant shape of it.
The oval and round frames I actually found on FB Marketplace, the set for only 5 dollars! When I got them home I looked up the brand as they still had the original tags on them. They retail ranging from 47 to 58 dollars, I could not believe it.
I love layering decor and adding as much texture as I can to a space. I feel like it adds the cozy feel I am always trying to achieve. A warm hug when you come and go, and little touches for the season that is approaching.
I have one more find that I was so excited about, a tablecloth that initially I thought would make great pillow covers. But when I unfolded it, seeing the pretty tassels and quality of the fabric, I decided it would go in our dining room for Spring. That space coming sooner that I got this one out hopefully!
The tablecloth is in like new condition, only $7.99 at Goodwill, originally from Target, their Threshold line. The print and colors are sooooo pretty!
Here is a bit more Spring inspiration below from recent years….
I hope you have a wonderful weekend my friend, as always thank you so much for your sweet comments and following along. I appreciate you so much!
