Transitioning into Fall entry way

Hello friends!

We have a 10th, 7th and 5th grader all back in school and these last couple of weekends I have been kicking my fall vibes into high gear. Are you starting to feel and the fall feels too?

This summer I painted two walls in our entry way a warm terra cotta color with fall in mind.

While the color makes our artwork and collections come to life it also will look great as it transitions back to spring at some point.

Our home is a 1970’s Mid-Century Modern and the entryway can be challenging to make it feel like an entryway. But I really love how it is now after moving some things around and adding some new finds too.

We have a kitchen that is on the smaller side, and when we took down the upper cabinets a few years ago we realized storage was now a challenge.

This early 1900’s dresser as a thrift store find years ago, and she has been green, then a pretty smoky black and now this soft cashmere color. I love her little glass knobs and wooden wheels. This is where I store my baking dishes, cloth napkins and napkin rings. Thank goodness for vintage dressers!

To the left the entry looks into the front living room, we have two fireplaces (which I find funny in a little house but I am thankful for them nonetheless!) and this one we have left wood burning.

I love to thrift and find new treasures that mix well with our global/boho/vintage vibe.

I decided for early fall to transition by throw blankets, pillows and florals to lean towards earthy, warm hues. And a couple subtle white faux pumpkins are just what we needed in this spot to really reflect all the cozy vibes that we want to feel when we come home this time of year.

Penny our rescue is ready to welcome you in for some coffee or a nice glass of red wine on the patio. She herself like kibble and people who drop food.

I brought in a big rag-rug to pull this space together, the driftwood and yarn wall art on the wall above are a creation of tied yarn, dollar-tree off white clothesline and a desire to fill this hard to find something for this kind of hard to decorate wall. It has moved around a bit but ended up here (for now 🙂 ) do you find yourself shopping your house too? I am forever moving stuff around, with a Diet Coke and Fleetwood Mac playing in the background for good energy.

I love plants!

If you are decorating for Spring or Summer they seem to make everything come alive. And when Fall and Winter roll around I find myself loving how they look as all the rich, warmer hues come in to make us cozy for colder days and nights.

This wall behind the front door is a little tricky since the door opens right there and I don’t have much space to work with. I found this little boho style bench this summer at Ross and the pillows are Jungalow by Justine Blakeney for Target. I LOVE this line, literally everything is so gorgeous, affordable and seems to match with my vibe.

The basket to the left of the dresser above is Jungalow too, and will most likely have a plant in it soon 😉

I love the warm earthy hues so much this time of year, and I see we have a few small pumpkins getting some color in the garden so it won’t be long until they can join their friends here!
