I am super excited to share my progress on Abbie’s Big Girl Bedroom today!!
A few of the projects you may have already seen, like the Painted Herringbone Wall,
and the Paper & Rock Succulent Garden. The pretty yellow Euro shams were an
awesome find at Goodwill recently, $5 for the pair!
I made the Paper & Lace Dream Catcher a few months ago (ok more like 6 months ago)
when I began the makeover. A mix of thrifted art, fabric covered picture frames, and DIY projects
made this room come together in an eclectic and fun way.
I am loving the way it turned out!
After I painted two walls grey, one of them with the Herringbone paint treatment, I painted the
remaining two walls a pale aqua. Some paper lanterns, (the yellow plaid an Oh Joy! Target find.)
Putting together Abbie’s room was really fun. The vintage rocker was a find from
a friend, and baby quilt something I had to include even though this is technically her Big Girl room.
I couldn’t leave it out, it’s so sweet. A sheet music wreath, my Yay Glitter letters, and pretty horse
print belonged to my sweet mama.
The ruched bedding is a Target find, and the faux Flokati rug is just a yard and a half of faux
fur from JoAnn’s. I folded it in half and kind of cut a freehand shape out of it.
Someone is loving their space too, she has been so excited at each stage and with each addition
as we have worked on it. I’m kind of glad that it ended up taking so many months to complete.
It gave us to find the time to choose the things she loves, and allow her room to really become
something we worked on together. The important thing is how this space makes her feel, and
if how much she loves to hang out in her room is any indication, I think we found the perfect
mix of vintage, new, found and created.
Thank you so much for reading friend, have a blessed + creative day!!
