This post has been a while in the making!
We got busy around the house working on a million things as usual and I had this fun bowl all styled and ready to go.
Then SPRING hit!
And I thought how perfect to show how you can turn an on trend DIY textured bowl (inspo bowl can be found here– for $129) into something pretty for Spring.
And the best part this is so neutral you can fill it with chunky beads all summer, pumpkins in the fall and I see a glam pile of Christmas ornaments looking pretty good in it too.
Here is the inspo:
And here is how I made mine ๐
A big ceramic bowl from Goodwill for $4.99, all other supplies I had on hand!
A dark chalk paint, just enough left over from another project mixed with some baking soda about a 50/50 ratio to get the paint really textured.
Mix, mix, mix and two thick coats on the inside and outside allowing plenty of dry time ๐
And here is what I ended up with….she was fun but needed to be brought into the most amazing season SPRING ๐
I used a round piece of florist foam on the bottom and rolled some sheet moss around the top to hide the party that was about to take place.
This stuff is so cool and I did not want to go buy more moss as it’s something I don’t use often so having some on hand was great. However loose moss and the florist foam can both be found at Dollar Tree.
Then for the fun part, I placed a few greenery picks here and there and some longer pieces to give the bowl some depth.
After filling the bowl and adding a couple trailing pieces I was done!
And this part took less than 20 minutes, I love to make stuff but not anything that takes too long. Unless I am painting a room, that is different lol ๐
Are you still getting snow and trying to see Spring on the horizon or is it already getting warm and you are in shorts? In WA State the weather is crazy right now and we are in a rainy somewhere in between but have had some warmer sunny days.
They just make you want to get out there and dust off the winter vibes don’t they?
Thank you as always for reading and no matter what you are up to I hope you have some beautiful sun on your face and a little time for you too.
Until next time!
xoxo, Tanya
