Christmas Spaces Tour: Our Mid-Century Modern

Hello friends!

It’s that time of year when life seems to go into lightning speed mode as the holidays approach, and all I want to do is turn on my Christmas lights and make cocoa!

As simple as I hoped to keep things this year, being the first year in our “new” to us home, a 1978 mid century modern home, I may have not stuck to those plans entirely.

Are  you feeling the pull to fluff your nest and make your spaces in your home as warm and cozy as possible?

I am excited to be part of this Christmas Spaces Tour with some great blogging friends who are SO creative! Make sure you take a moment to stop by each of their beautiful blogs and see what they are up to 🙂

My Christmas space to share today is our Living Room in our new home.  We bought our house this summer and boy has it been a whirlwind of projects and more than one night falling asleep with your painting clothes on!

I know you can identify, as there is always something that isn’t “done” or even “begun” in our homes.  I hope to enjoy my right now house and it’s my dream to help others see their home in a new light that doesn’t need to be perfect to be wonderful 🙂

So, welcome to our home, I swept up just enough sawdust to be able to share a space with you today, and hopefully will be able to share a bit more in the weeks to come.

Like our closet turned pantry with a giant handmade barn door thanks to my hubs who is the hardest working person I have yet to meet by the way!

Come on in, Dean Martin is playing and I am about to light a fire in the fireplace.

Grab a soft blanket and get cozy while we think about the wonder of it all, and the excitement in the air as Christmas draws near.

When everything came together the happy accident was a lodge-feel in the living room.  And I could not love it more!

One of my little white glitter houses from a few years ago, I love to put a battery operated candle behind it when it gets dark out and see the light dance in the little windows.

Some of my favorite projects we’ve made at Christmas (two are in this post!)

In the weeks to come we will have more to share, but for now here is our living room ready for Santa to arrive.  And there might just be three smaller and two grown up kids who couldn’t be more excited!

From our glitter-laden abode to yours, wishing you everything wonderful, blessed and good this season,

xoxo,

Tanya

  2. Tanya, I am loving your mid-century home! I love all things MCM, so I can’t wait to see more. Your space here looks so cozy and comfy that I’m bummed that I can’t pop by for a quick visit and listen to Dean Martin and sip on some cocoa 🙂 Hope you and yours have a great Christmas 🙂

  3. Sam, I love these words “doesn’t need to be perfect to be wonderful”. Your living room is so cozy and welcoming! Love the pair of black chairs and fireplace decor.
