DIY Burlap Spring Wreath

Spring is almost here, and I don’t know about you but I am so ready! I cannot wait to see the first tiny shoots push thru the dirt and bloom for us. The bright yellow daffodils, longer days, and more yard sales of course.

While we wait a few bright, pretty projects can surely tide us over until the real things is here right?

I recently made this burlap spring wreath, and I love the way the yellow and burlap compliment each other.  So cheery!

Here is what I used:
One yard of burlap, cut into 2″ strips
One wreath form (I used a pool noodle I have
used before, bent into a circle
and taped together at the ends)
Three small bundles of Spring flowers (Dollar Tree)
Jute twine and about one yard of white lace
Craft paper, craft scissors, letters, flowers
Hot glue, scissors, hole punch, glue stick

Directions:
I began by wrapping each strip of burlap around the wreath shape, tacking the ends down with hot glue as I covered the wreath base.
Once the base was covered I cut my white lace into a few pieces, wrapping each around one side of the wreath and tacking down.
Next I wrapped some jute the other side of the wreath and tucked my floral sprigs in place.

I cut out six pieces of craft paper and used my decorative scissors across the bottom of each.  Using a hole punch I made holes in the upper corners and wove a piece of jute thru each, creating a banner.  I added my letters and flowers, and hung it across the burlap, tying the ends to the wreath to secure.

A fun pop of color for your home for spring.

Thank you friends,  have a wonderful week!

  5. I love this wreath and I am going to make one for my door. Can you give me some more detailed info like how big is your wreath and what size are the squares for the letters. Thank you so much and thank you for inspiring me. Candy

    1. Candace,

The paper squares are about 2″ by 2″, big enough for the letters that I used with are about 1.5″
The wreath form I made from a pool noodle, so a form that is 16″ or slightly larger would work well.
Thank you so much for visiting, have fun making your wreath!!

      xo, Tanya
