Today’s DIY Mediterranean earrings were inspired by the beautiful colors of the ocean like azure, sapphire, sea green and teal. While mentally planning my trip to the Mediterranean (someday!) I created these little lovlies to tide me over until my tootsies touch down in Sicily and Crete.
-
Two pieces of “tiger tail” to string beads on, each about 10″ long
-
Assorted beads (I used a mix of glass beads, and small glass seed beads in blue/green shades)
-
Two earring hooks
-
Two crimp beads
-
Needle-nosed pliers and wire snips or scissors
The first step is to decide how long you would like for your earrings to be, and starting in the center, string beads on each side of your main bead like in the picture below.
I wore these with jeans and a t-shirt yesterday, and I think I will pair them with a tank and maxi skirt when I visit the farmer’s market with the little’s this week. I hope you are inspired to keep your travels alive in your head and heart, and until you are there, you have a pair of earrings to inspire your day-tripping.
