DIY Scrap Book Paper Garland For Boys

Hi there! It’s Brooke and I am so excited to share a fun, thrifty paper garland I made for my boys recently.

I think I’ve mentioned this before, but I have three young boys.  And I’m always on the lookout for cute decor to use in their room (yes, all three of them share a room right now, and I’ve actually grown to LOVE it!).  Anyway, I feel like boy decor is a lot like boy clothing.  It’s really hard to find cute things for boys!  Girls (and maybe it’s just because I can’t ever buy anything girlie) have so many options when it comes to decor and clothing.  Am I right, mothers of boys?  I know Tanya has a grandson, so maybe she can relate.

Often times I’m left to making decor for my boys’ room because I can’t find just what I’m looking for, or I don’t want to pay the price of what I actually do like.
So today I have a cute, oh so fun (any easy!) paper craft to make with you…

I found this charming scrapbook paper (that I cut apart into tags) at a local scrapbook store (Pebbles in My Pocket for any of you Utahns), and snatched it right up.  It was cute, inexpensive, and for boys!!  It comes from My Mind’s Eye,  and it’s called Boy Crazy.  The entire line is fabulous!  But these tags lend themselves perfectly for a quick and easy garland.
I bought the paper a few months back, and had to do a bit of hunting to find it for you, but don’t worry I did!  You can purchase the tags at Scrapbook.com.

I used my adhesive to attach each scrapbook tag to the note cards (found in the $1.50 bins at Michaels, but a piece of black and white polka dot paper would work just as well).

Like so.  Don’t you love the black and white polk-a-dot with the bright colors?
Next, I popped the jewels off my large clothespins, (also found at Michaels, but in the $2 bins) and used the same adhesive to add my scrapbook scraps.  You could use Mod Podge if you’re wanting a more permanent look for your clothespins, but I like to change things up frequently, so it’s nice to be able to easily remove the paper.
This is what they looked like once I attached my scraps.  I’m in total love with these!  I can’t get over the size.  LOVE THEM!
Now that you have your cards with tags attached, and your clothespins decked out, you’re ready to attach everything to your sting and make a garland.

Presto!  And just like that, you have the perfect, stylish garland for your boys!  I love to make things from scratch at times, but it’s even better when most of the work is done for me!  It doesn’t get much easier than attaching a piece of scrapbook paper to a note card, does it?

Stop by and see my at Blissful Roots anytime!  I have a fun DIY ABC tree I made for my boys’ room as well you can come and check out.

Thank you, sweet Tanya for letting me be here with you and your readers today!  Always such a pleasure.  Have a wonderful week.  Hopefully you’re noticing bits of spring in your neck of the woods.  I know we have been, and it’s exhilarating!
These are SO stinkin’ cute!! My boys would love these in their room, thank you again Brooke for another fun idea this month.  And yes ma’am after raising both boys and girls, I agree it can be hard to find clothes & decor for them that is cute but still has enough “boy” in it to be cool.
Thank you as always, for reading friend! See you this weekend for the next Inspiration Monday Party on Sunday-
