1-2 rolls of sisal rope and jute twine
Mod Podge
Plastic Wrap, tape, containers to wrap rope around as a mold
Scissors, paper plates, paper towels
Twigs or small branches
Burlap and fabric scraps for stem
Directions:
You can use containers like an empty 2 liter soda bottle, or any round/oval tube as a base.
Use 8-12 foot lengths of rope for each pumpkin.
Cover your bottle with plastic wrap, a grocery sack, or a small garbage liner, use tape to secure.
Pour a few tablespoons of Mod Podge onto your paper plate, dip your rope into the Mod Podge
to coat, but not soak the rope. Wrap each length of rope around a prepared base, tucking each
end in and not overlapping the rope as you wrap it around. It should look like a coil.
Allow the rope to dry, I set mine out in the sun and they were completely dry in about an hour.
Carefully remove the rope from the base, do not unwind as you want the rope to retain it’s coil
shape. Connect the ends which creates your pumpkin base, insert branch in the center, and
use jute twine around the center to secure.
Tie scraps of burlap and fabric around the stem to finish your pumpkin!
Pretty easy too!
Do you like to make a few things early, or wait until the leaves are falling to decorate for Fall
each year? I have done both, and either way, Fall is still my favorite season, I can almost
smell the baked apples now 🙂

These are so cute! I love the way they turned out!
I love Mod Modge and projects with rope/twine! Very cute. I agree that it seems odd to think about fall when it's not even August, but once August starts everything just seems like it rushes forward all the way to the end of the year!

I wish Fall was here Already! Love the little pumpkins, anything twine is right up my alley 😉
Bite your tongue. I am over here with my head in the sand, pretending BTS is not around the corner. I have mixed Fall feelings. It's a fav season… but it means my precious, short Oregon Summer is over.
(of course, these are super cute!!!)
Great idea….I love projects that turn out looking fantastic without a lot of work! You've put me in the mood to start crafting for fall!
