Hi everyone!!
It is Krista from The Happy Housie back again and I am so excited to be here today
sharing this super easy (and thrifty!) DIY Dropcloth Table runner with you!
Halloween House Tour Dining Room with hand sketched sharpie pumpkins at thehappyhousie
For this project you will need:
  • a dropcloth (or similar fabric)
  • scissors
  • painters tape (I used Frog brand)
  • spray paint in your colour of choice – I used Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Flat Black
I started out with a plain ol’ dropcloth that I picked up at my local hardware store.
 I think I paid about $15 for a 4 foot by 12 foot piece.
That translates to around $4 a yard, give or take.

I cut one long strip 18″ wide and 84″ long (because my table is 72″ long
and I wanted an overhang on each end). I let the edges fray naturally because
I don’t plan to wash this, but you could definitely sew the edges or use some
no-sew hemming tape to secure them first.

I used Frog Tape to tape out my lines, spacing them evenly by using a spacer piece
that I moved as I taped my way down the length of the runner.

Then I sprayed away with my flat black spray paint and let it dry about an hour… Done!!

The perfect addition to our Halloween table, though I think it will transition nicely
into regular ol’ Fall come November.
