Favorites from 2017 + an Irish Blessing

Hi friends!

While I don’t have a brand new upcycle or DIY to share today, I just wanted to take a moment to wish you a Happy New Year.

I started this blog 6 years ago, and had absolutely no idea what direction it might go or where I would be years later.

Having this space to make, and recreate, and talk with you brought more to my spirit than I could ever have offered to teach or show anyone else.

When a challenging personal time in my life came along, I didn’t have much to write about.

I thought perhaps the chapter had closed and wondered if I should start again when I felt the urge to write.

Am I glad that I listened to that small voice pushing me to log on and hit publish.

I learned to listen closer to that inner push, and have found my passion in the meantime.

And to eek out a bit of time to paint a dresser.

And admit that I don’t have it all together, and that it’s ok to come back and say hello even if you have been gone for a long time.

Writing, junking, sanding, painting, and moving stuff around and taking pictures of it to share with you brings me more joy than you can ever know.

And when you message me or leave a comment, I treasure those, and hold them close because you took time out of your busy life to read this little blog and once more, to let me know you were here.

It’s a little like writing a message in a guest book or leaving your initials on a tree I guess.

I want to thank you from my imperfect farmhouse in the suburbs, and my grateful heart for following along, and being amazing.

I am blessed, and I hope that every good thing, every beautiful thing, every blessing & every wonderful happening comes to you this coming year.

You friend, are appreciated and I can’t tell you how blessed I am to be able to have this life, and my family, and my health, and this corner of the internet to pour my heart and sandpaper out to you.

My favorite Irish Blessing is for you this coming year…

“May the road rise up to meet you,

May the wind be always at your back,

May the sun shine warm upon your face,

The rain fall soft upon your fields,

And until we meet again,

May God hold you in the palm of His hand”
