How To Make A Junky 3-Tiered Stand

While thrifting last weekend with my
crafty bff Donna, I found
a pair of really cool artichoke finials.
Sometimes I am not sure how I am going to use
the stuff I find, but this time I knew…
one of them would make a nice little topper
for a DIY tiered stand.
Paired with a set of old baking pans,
things on the junk horizon were looking good!

~How to make a junky three-tiered stand~
Supplies:
Three metal baking pans or pie plates
Charcoal or silver spray paint
White acrylic paint
Two glass candle sticks
Four wooden balls for the feet (flat on one side)
E6000 glue
Fine sandpaper
Finial for the top of the stand
Scrap cloth
Awl to make hole for finial screw to fit into
Directions:
First I used two good coats of my spray paint
on the finial, wooden balls, and candle sticks.
Once they were dry, I used a cloth to dab on
a bit of white acrylic paint to each spray painted
area, rubbing it lightly to make the spray paint
match the metal well.  After that I used a bit
of fine sandpaper to lightly distress
the wooden balls and finial.

Next I used my awl to make a hole in the smallest
of the three pans that the finial screw would go in.
After that I used my E6000 glue to each section
together, allowing each to set a bit before
adding the next layer.  I began by gluing the flat side
of the wooden feet to the bottom of the largest pan first.
Spacing them out evenly, they support the stand well.
Next one candle stick went between the largest and
medium pans, gluing in place.

After that was dry

I did the same between the medium and
small pans, finishing with gluing the finial screw
in place in the top of the stand.
(I always use this adhesive
in a well ventilated area, it is very stinky)
If you missed my DIY Apothecary jars, I used
a similar technique to make them.
I let the stand dry overnight in my garage
and by morning she was junk-tastic!
Thank you so much for making stuff
with me today! Don’t forget to come back
and show off your crafty self

It's amazing what some spray paint can do. Just got 2 cans of brushed nickel Krylon at Lowes on their rejects shelf.
I'll be looking for bundt pans maybe and use them or aha… I have some pie pans I never use. Think they'd be good candidates for this project, all they do is take up
