Hello and happy Thanksgiving week!!
Are you all ready to host or travel to your Thanksgiving destination? We are staying home and hosting at our house, ready? Not even close haha! ๐
I like to try new things and move artwork and accessories all the time, so each year I have a few new things I want to try with my Christmas decor.
I love all of the brass and copper bells you are seeing everywhere right now and wondered if I couldn’t come pretty close on a dime.
Due to a significant spray paint hoard I already had sparkly copper spray paint so then I just needed to figure out what to make the “bells” out of.
Tin cans, that would work.
But I wanted them to be kind of angled.
I looked and looked thru my seasonal stuff and saw a set of cups I bought a couple years ago at Marshall’s.
Perfect!
And since only three had survived I was all set. I gathered my hot glue gun, jute rope (dollar store boo ya!) and jute twine. And….I had not decided how to hang them.
Enter a few strips of scrap decorating fabric frayed at the edges and hot glued to the bottom (well now it’s the top!) of each cup.
Two good coats of copper paint and a bit of black acrylic paint to age them. I just rubbed it on with a small brush and blended it with my fingertips.
Next, the large piece of rope went thru the loop and I glued it end to end inside the fabric scrap loop. I used a 24″, 30″ and 40″ piece of rope so they would hang at different levels.
I wound the twine around the rope and secured with a bit of hot glue.
And that’s it! I will be sharing my Christmas entry way soon and you may see these hanging around there but they really can go just about anywhere for a rustic, cheery holiday touch.
I hope this finds you staying cozy as we approach such a wonderful time of year.
Thank you as always for reading friend! Hugs, Tanya ๐
