Hello there! It’s Brooke from Blissful Roots visiting again today. Is everyone as excited as me that September means fall is just right around the corner? With another boy on the way next month, I have to say my pregnant self is LOVING the cooler temperatures, and every bit of me is thrilled to see some colors popping up on the mountains!
I’m pretty sure I’ve professed my love for PicMonkey here at twelveOeight before, but just in case I haven’t, I will right now. PicMonkey has an amazing collection of images to use for free. You can pay the Royale fee and have access to even more, but the free options are plentiful! Just look at all these leaves you can use for any of your fall projects for FREE!
When you first pull up PicMonkey (after choosing an image to edit- I just used a blank white image I have saved to my desktop), you’ll see this menu come up in the sidebar. Click on the butterfly image.
Then you’ll see a long menu of image categories. Scroll down until you find the ‘Nature’ category, and click on ‘Leaves”.
You will then see all of these leaf images appear. The eight black leaves at the top are free (Basic). The other eight leaves on the bottom cost (Royale).
Choose which leaf image you want to use, and click on it. It will appear black and white at first with a sizing box around it. Simply drag one of the corner circles on the sizing box to adjust the size of your leaf. You can also tilt your leaf by using the circle at the top of the sizing box. In addition to your leaf image, you’ll have a little window pop up. The window is where you can adjust your leaf coloring, rotation, and other editing options. You’ll notice there are two colors for one leaf.
If don’t want to see the leaf veins, simply make color 1 and color 2 the same.
If you want the veins of the leaf to show, then choose different colors for color 1 and color 2. It’s fun to experiment with all of the color variations and combinations.
Once you’ve got the leaf just as you’d like, just save it to your desktop, and then print it out. It’s really as easy as that! I love how you can customize the leaf coloring and sizing to fit ANY project. I’m thinking these would be perfect for a fall leaf banner, place cards, a gallery wall, and the collage I’ve made with the leaves makes me think of a BINGO card. What a fun fall activity to do with your kids!

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this site.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s very hard to get that “perfect balance” between usability and visual appeal.
