Wishing you a blessed, fun and joyful 4th of July friends, I am so excited about
today’s project from Brooke. Her upcycled crafts and decorations amaze me,
this one does not disappoint!!
Happy 4th of July twelveOeight readers! Don’t you just love this day? So many fun reasons to celebrate! Apparently too many reasons for me because here I am again with another patriotic craft. I shared my patriotic matchbox printables last month, and thought I was done with the 4th of July theme, but with it being the actual 4th of July today, I had to share one more patriotic idea.
So, I have a fun, easy, and inexpensive centerpiece to share with you today. Now, you may not be able to throw this together for your parties today, but you can save it and be all set for next year’s celebration, or change up the color scheme and use it for ANY occasion!
You know I love a bargain, and even more I love using things I already have when I create. So, the supply list is cheap, easy, and things you probably have around your home right now.
SUPPLIES
*Empty oatmeal container (I used an 18-oz. size)
*Scrapbook paper
*Card stock
*Ribbon
*4th of July printable from Hostess with the Mostess (click here for link)
*Paper Medallion (click here for an easy tutorial)
*Adhesive (I used Scotch tape and hot glue)
*Tissue paper pom-pom (I like Martha Stewart’s tutorial)
HOW TO
*Measure and cut your scrapbook paper to cover your oatmeal container. Adhere with hot glue or tape in the back.
*Hot glue a ribbon around the center of the container.
*Hot glue the paper medallion to the ribbon in the front.
*Hot glue the 4th of July printable to the medallion.
*Make your tissue paper pom-pom, and stuff it into the top of the oatmeal container.
DONE!
The fun thing about the empty oatmeal containers is that you can do whatever you’d like with them. Try covering one with fabric or wrapping paper, add any embellishment to the front of the container, and put whatever you’d like in it. I just showed one example here of what I did, but you can change it up and make it your own!
