Little white pumpkins + our fall home

Every year or so I make a different type of fabric covered pumpkins and this year I decided I would use a little thrifted blanket I had for some time.

My grandma and I used to laugh yet identify in the 80’s when we would see the “whoever dies with the most fabric wins” bumper sticker…but honestly I’m feeling seen looking back on that 🙂

We used to always sew together, and I have her old Bernina to this day. So many memories in one sewing machine we huddled around making our creations.

With temps in the 70’s each day here in the Pacific Northwest it’s hard to go full on pumpkin mode when the kids are wearing shorts to school.

So I kind of ease into in with a few projects, and by October I have lost all sense of reality and I am a suburban pumpkin farmer bascially.

So this is pretty much a free project since I had these little pumpkins in my fall decor bins already and I already had the sweater/blanket. And while I do like to sew this is no-sew which is ok by me with all of us still getting used to kids being up at a certain time and the structure of the school year again.

I started by removing the stems as I used cut branch pieces from my yard for the new “stems.”

Next I cut a square in the top of each pumpkin so I would have space to tuck the blanket into as I wrapped it around and tucked it in. I thought about tucking fabric into the top and bottom initially but I think they sit up better by wrapping it up and tucking it into the top. Hence the extra hole in the bottom.

I left a little out on them at the top I thought it looked cute with the branch/stems.

So, materials are simple: Fabric of your choice, scissors, hot glue and something to use for stems!

Here they are all finished, they would look really cute just about anywhere so I have moved them a few times now of course 🙂

I decorated a few areas this year for fall, our entry and here are a couple other spots I brought some fall colors to around our home.

I love this time of year, the only thing I miss are the long sunny days, but they will be back!

I hope this finds you cozy and finding time to refresh as we naturally tend to slow down a bit and enjoy a quieter pace this season.

It’s the little touches that bring all the fall feels in our homes don’t you think?

As always thank you for reading! xo Tanya
