Lucky Shamrock Banner

St. Patrick’s Day and Easter are so
close together this year, I am trying
to get a head start on some
of my decorating.

I don’t usually decorate a lot (as much as Easter
and Valentine’s Day) for my favorite
Irish holiday.  But I have to make a few
new things every year.

I made a few banners today, here is the first
one. I used a pretty light green and white fabric
for triangular pieces, and a contrasting
aqua and green for the long strips.
I picked up these pretty shamrocks at the
Dollar Tree, and used a variety of leftover
chipboard letters to spell out “lucky” on each
fabric triangle.
I used hot glue to attach each piece together, and
glued them to a long piece of green ribbon.
I left a bit of space in between to tie the pieces
of contrasting aqua and green fabric.
I cannot decide where to hang it yet, and
once I do find a spot, it will probably move again!
Do you decorate for St. Patrick’s Day or go
directly into some Spring decorating?
I find myself doing a bit of early Spring decor
as I get ready for St. Patrick’s Day and Easter.
We have quite a bit of Irish in us, so I hope
to make a few more things before it’s time
to hop down the bunny trail.

Thank you so much for reading,
may the luck O’ the Irish always be with you 🙂

  1. This is just great – love St. Pat's and this is a different take on it. I might just have to whip one up myself! Hope you can stop by the enchanted oven to say hi.

  2. Cute banner Tanya! I have never decorated for St. Patrick's day, even though I suspect we have a bit of Irish in us…lots of redheads and freckles! I am planning some Easter decorations coming up soon though.

Thank you for sharing this at What We Accomplished Wednesdays! Have a great weekend!

    Hugs,
    Deborah
