Welcome to our Casa!
While my blog began in 2012, we bought our together home in 2018, a 40 year old mid-century modern home on 1/3 of an acre. The home was structurally sound and some renovations were done. But there was a long ways to go!
Here are a few of the things we have done:
We painted our house last summer, two different shades of grey with white accents. It was tan with mint green trim before so quite a difference right away!
I love the lighter grey and dark grey next to each other. A long ways from tan with mint green right?
We found this rug at a local thrift store and it was brand new, score!
A beautiful shade of blue-green for the accent wall above our bed in the master bedroom. This macramé made it’s way to the front door for summer so I am on the hunt for something new for this wall.
In our front loving room we have a long wall with rotating art and this industrial glam car cart. It started outdated and turned out so cool!
We sealed off the hall closet in our entry way and opened it up on the other side in the dining room, creating a pantry where there was not one before. I love the tile so much we may use the same tile when we re-do the bathrooms.
The upper cabinets came down and we ran tile to the ceiling, and poured our own concrete counter tops. That was a project but well worth it, we love them.
With the upper cabinets down you can see all the way into the front living room.
Light, bright and a mix of thrift store finds and refurbished things we come across.
We are still working on the outside covered patio (it’s HUGE) have a chicken coop to rebuild, and the bathrooms are circa 1978 so they will be getting a lot of attention this fall and winter.
We have a ways to go but we are sure are loving the feeling of making progress on our little 70’s house!
