Shabby Frame & Typography Project
giveaway for Miss Mustard Seed’s new book!!)
Creating special pieces of art and home
decor for our homes does not need to be expensive
or complicated either. Sometimes the most
beautiful flower arrangement is a handful of quickly
cut flowers from our yard in a jar or pitcher.
I love the combination of different materials, fibers
and elements that can come together to make
something we really enjoy.
And when it speaks the words of our heart, even better.
How perfect for this week,
which Valentine’s Day falls in.
I surprised my hubby with this on his
nightstand a few days ago. Since it had burlap
and zero glitter it had his stamp of approval
for our space. And I loved the distressed
frame right when I found it.
I have always loved the large pallet art with
this saying, but I am still piecing together
what our space will look like.
So, a smaller version was just right.
And it is just so simple and sweet.
I cannot resist different types of paper
letters and typography styles so I seem to
be building up a bit of a collection.
I alternated two fonts, with a piece of
damask scrap book paper behind the letters.
Once I was done, I made a simple paper bunting
that looks like it has real stitching on it.
And a shabby burlap rose with a tiny pearl
from a bag of broken vintage jewelry I bought
last year glued in the center.
Manly enough to make the hubs happy, and
sweet enough to make me smile when
I walk by it. Just right for us.
Happy Valentine’s Day (and week!) friends…
xo, Tanya
