Thrift Store Redo: a thrift store chair makeover

I am fairly certain I had no dang business thrifting or hitting yard sales this year at all.

Not with the makings of my own thrift store in my garage right now.

But sometimes you have to live on the edge a little, and you see something that strikes a chord (apparently that happens often from the lack of even a decent sized trail to walk in my garage) and you just need too…..

just go for it.

This chair makeover is actually the inspiration behind my home office makeover I am working on right now, I love the mix of the aqua and white fabric against the copper, so pretty!

It was super easy, I began with a sturdy folding metal chair, about 1 yard of stain resistant fabric… some hot glue, copper spray paint and tools to take apart and put my chair back together.

Once the fabric parts were removed I sprayed a good coat of paint over the entire chair twice and let it dry well.  Next I centered my design on the seat back and seat bottom, cutting around each with about 1 1/2 inches extra all around.  I glued the edges down into place and put the seat and back in place, attaching each again with the small screws that held them in place.

And that was it, it was that simple to take an old chair and turn it into something beautiful and modern, perfect for an office makeover.

Or a little nook anywhere in your house.

Or better yet, you already have a set of four of these bad boys and you have already stopped reading and are heading to the store for spray paint.

No matter what colors or patterns you decide to go with they will look amazing, and it’s SO easy to makeover old outdated pieces with a little paint and fabric don’t you think?

Thank you so much for reading friend, love you SO & cannot wait to show you what’s next for the makeover (the desk and a big accent wall are on the list!)

Until next time, stay crafty love!
