I hope you all had a wonderful week.
I had a whirlwind kind of week,
and I think I am getting caught up!
I was invited to speak to our MOMS group
at our church last week which was a blast!
We had almost an hour together, and I had
so much fun sharing thrifty living ideas
and do it yourself decorating tips &
tutorials with over 100 of the most
amazing women I am blessed to know.
I talked about this a bit in last week’s post
~Onto today’s junktastic project~
I have always loved vintage kitchen anything,
and this vintage jello mold was in great shape
when I found it recently.
I filled it with some lemons, then some muffins,
cookies would have looked cute too.
But this little jello mold was destined
to be a wreath.
I had a little bit of this lovely ticking print
few months ago.
Ticking makes such pretty flowers,
with burlap leaves…swoon!
Here is what I used to make my
vintage kitchen wreath
supplies:
One metal jello mold (or other junky base)
1/2 yard of ticking (striped fabric)
1/4 yard of burlap
hot glue & scissors
directions:
Tear ticking fabric in 2-3 in strips, and remove
excess fraying strings from the edges of the fabric.
Make sure you cut and tear the strips the same
direction as the selvage along the edge of the fabric.
One piece will be for your wreath hanger.
The others you will want to knot one end, then
rolling the fabric around in a loop, tack it down with
hot glue to hold your flower in place.
(picture above)
Next, cut a few 3″ x 3” squares of burlap, and
fray the edges a bit by pulling a couple strings
off of each side. Holding one corner of each square
together, pinch and glue in place to form a leaf shape.
(picture above)
Using a few dots of hot glue, attach your flowers
to the bottom center of the wreath, and add
the burlap leaves around the edges of the flowers.
voila!
A chic “new” vintage kitchen (or anywhere)
wreath for your nest…
Have a wonderful day friends, don’t forget
our weekly party starts Monday night.
I cannot wait to see what you have up to!!
hugs & blessings friend,
Tanya

Oh how I love this! I'm kicking myself for not snagging this old bundt pan I saw today at a yard sale because it would have been PERFECT for a wreath like yours.
Really cute, Tanya! Can you believe I picked up my very first piece of burlap EVER last week?? I'm so behind! Thanks for the pretty inspiration 🙂

Hi Tanya,
what a great idea. I love items like this for the kitchen. I had so many in my other house, but here I hardly have any wall space. I will have to find somewhere else to put one.
Thanks for the awesome idea.
Have a wonderful week,

I love that! I spray-painted an old vintage bundt pan at Christmas time and used it as a wreath … it was one of my favorite decorations. Your flowers soften it up and make it look so cute!
It is completely adorable! I love the ticking roses. What fun to share what you love with others. It's what we do here on our blogs, but it must be fun to share in person. I'm sure they were smitten by all your awesome ideas!
Thank you for sharing it at to What We Accomplished Wednesdays. Have a lovely week!

Hi, I saw your wreath featured on Tweak it Tues. I love burlap and ticking. The vintage jello mold is such a fun idea. I found an old rusty tractor rim along the roadside when hubby and I took a road trip to ID. I want to use it in my craft room and spell our last name with unusual items. (Olson) I think it would be fun to dress it up a bit like this. Happy to be a new follower. I have a
