A Few Goode Heroes Contest + Who I Nominated!

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Murphy-Goode Winery. All opinions are 100% mine.

The idea behind giving back is a good one, and many times it seems like we get busy in our day and forget (I FORGET!) to acknowledge how important our everyday heroes are to us.  When I connect with a company, person or brand who really gets it, and is making an effort to give back and spotlight our heroes it gets my attention.

What is an everyday hero? Someone who makes a difference in the life of those around them, like a teacher, first responder, firefighter, police officer, veteran or active military personnel. Murphy-Goode is a wine brand that not only tastes amazing, but is socially conscious as well.  And they don’t take themselves too seriously, which I can appreciate.  But they do take making good wine, and giving back very seriously.

They have partnered with Operation Homefront, and every year make a special wine blend just for this event.

They donate .50 from the sale of every bottle of that blend sold to help raise more funds and awareness too!  To the tune of over $300k a year.  That’s amazing.

So, here is how it works: I would love it if you voted for my everday hero, my sister Kim who is an amazing foreign language teacher, and also volunteers her time teaching ESL in the Bay area each week.  But guess what? You can nominate your own hero too, and spread the word.  So drinking some good wine with dinner and sharing with friends just got that much more fun!

Here is more information about the contest: A Few Goode Heroes Contest

And make sure to like Murphy-Goode on Facebook too: Murphy-Goode on Facebook

So, who is your hero? How are they making a difference in your life and those around them?

Here is my hero, Kim.  My amazing little sister who has a huge heart and helps everyone, all the time.

I may be partial because she’s my sister, but I don’t think anyone who knows her would disagree.

Here are the deets:

Everyday Hero nominations run through April 30th 2014, and voting for your favorite heroes takes place from May 12th-May 19th 2014.

Prizes for heroes:

1. Four (4) Hero Prize Winners: One (1) prize of $500, made in the Selected Contestant’s name, will be donated to his or her 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of choice. A matching donation of $500 will also be donated to Operation Homefront. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”): $2,000. The nonprofit must be incorporated in the United States and must be in good standing.

2. One (1) Super Hero Prize Winner: One (1) prize of $1,000, made in the Super Hero Prize Selected Contestant’s name, will be donated to a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of his or her choice. A matching donation of $1,000 will also be donated to Operation Homefront. The nonprofit must be incorporated in the United States and must be in good standing.

Ok, so here is what you can do, be thinking of your hero, and nominate them! Come back and vote in May and help out the cause by spreading the word, and buying some delish wines from Murphy-Goode while you are at it!!

I’ve been surfing online more than three hours
today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours.
It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did,
the internet will be much more useful than ever before.
