A Visit to The Pumpkin Patch with The Pumpkin Boss

We had our annual trip to the pumpkin patch last week, and I am not sure how much we
accomplished in the pumpkin-finding department.
But we had a lot of fun.  And the kids even slowed down long enough for me to actually
take a few pictures (rare!)
First we sat by a campfire and listened to a story, drank some apple cider, and waited
for our turn to take a hay ride.  I grew up riding on top of hay bales on the flat bed
hauled behind my Grandpa’s tractor, but the thrill just hasn’t worn off.  So fun!
This little farm is smack dab in the middle of the burbs but when you are there, you forget
about your schedule, and just want to buy some vegetables.  Farming and city, allowing
each other to be who they are and exist together.  I hope this little farm never changes.
It’s magical.
There was a large steer in the field too, but he didn’t seem to want to be included in my
post.  His loss, but his ladies sure wanted their picture taken.
This is part of an extensive coop, and goat/pig barn.  They also didn’t really want their
picture taken.  I would have had to enter their pen, which I am sure would have turned
my city-girl boots into farm boots real quick.  I stayed outside of the pen.  I like my
boots.
Ethan was a pumpkin-finding machine.
The determination to pumpkin-hoard in a pile for later purchase was impressive.
Genetics at work, I am so proud.
Some hardcore pumpkin weight-lifting, Logan worked on his core primarily.
And has a very good eye for the perfect pumpkin for carving.
I must admit I don’t like to carve pumpkins.
It seems kind of mean, and they don’t last as long.
They are so pretty just like they are, but the kids have visions of Darth Vader designs
carved into each innocent pumpkin so, one must please the Star Wars fans.
Like a boss, that is the only way I can describe Ethan.
A pumpkin boss.
And our new, sweet little pumpkin, he seems to be in his car seat in so many pictures,
but we have a don’t-take-the-sleeping-baby-out-of-their-carseat rule.
And at a week old, they sleep a lot.  So car seat it is.
Have a wonderful day friends, and as always, thank you so much for reading 🙂
