One Dresser with 3 Different Uses

How to style a dresser twelveOeightblog.com

When my eldest was younger, we seemed to move around a lot.

Always in the same city, but to a larger apartment or townhome, we were kind of like George and Weezie like that.

We never did make it to a penthouse in the sky, but we did come a long ways from our first little apartment right

off the freeway. Which of course I had decorated as closely to Monica’s apartment on Friend’s as I could.

Oh Monica.

With your open shelving and mismatched furniture, you savvy gal.

But I think the thing that really has always appealed to me has been flexibility.

Don’t you think so?

As you have moved and grown and shifted from one place to the next over the years, the pieces that stay with you

can be used in many ways. [Read more…]

Big girl bedroom makeover reveal

girl bedroom ideas

I am super excited to share my progress on Abbie’s Big Girl Bedroom today!!
A few of the projects you may have already seen, like the Painted Herringbone Wall,
and the Paper & Rock Succulent Garden.  The pretty yellow Euro shams were an
awesome find at Goodwill recently, $5 for the pair!

I made the Paper & Lace Dream Catcher  a few months ago (ok more like 6 months ago)
when I began the makeover.  A mix of thrifted art, fabric covered picture frames, and DIY projects
made this room come together in an eclectic and fun way.

I am loving the way it turned out!

Eclectic Bedroom Styling + A New Dresser

eclectic bedroom 1

I am so excited to share this with you today, my Eclectic Bedroom Styling above

Abbie’s new dresser in her room!! The first two walls are grey which I shared in

a recent post on how to create a DIY Herringbone design on your painted wall.

The two opposing walls are a light, airy aqua, with this beautiful new dresser

against the long aqua wall, I love how they look together! I recently had the

opportunity to select a piece of furniture from Sauder.com and boy was it hard

to decide from all of the gorgeous pieces and collections available.

But I knew I needed a dresser for Abbie’s big girl bedroom makeover. And

wanted to keep the fresh mix of modern with vintage to create a pretty space

that reflects her personality, and something she can use as she gets older. [Read more…]

DIY concrete candle holders

how to make cement candle holders

We have had such a fun & busy week around here, I am finally getting a chance to share a couple
new things with you.  I am LOVING all of the fun home accessories, tables, stools, and just about
anything you can think of made out of concrete that’s all over right now.

But first, I wanted to share another update, and that is my weight loss.
It’s been six months since I began this journey, and I have lost 40 pounds so far.
I know right? I’m excited too.  And I have a ways to go on my journey to fitness and better health
in my 40’s.  Feeling good feels good, does that make sense?

And, I wanted an updated photo for my blog, and social media for a while now, but really wanted
to wait until I had reached some of my weight loss goals.

DIY Painted Herringbone wall

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of FrogTape for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

audressy

I recently had a chance to try out Textured Surface by FrogTape and I knew exactly what I wanted to do
in this space.  I found the bedding for a song (cannot wait to show you the finished room very soon!)
the art & furniture is coming together, like this vintage rocking chair from a friend.  And I love how
bright and pretty her room looks with a clean geometric wall as the main focal point.

Before I show you how I did it, don’t forget to jump over and
follow the FrogTape Textured Surface board on Pinterest,
there are tons of awesome ideas are waiting for you there as well!!

Here is how I created this Herringbone accent wall for Abbie’s room: [Read more…]
