Early winter style + Jord Wood Watches

Hello friends!

Today I am sharing something a bit different and stepping on the other side of the camera for a bit.  I work full time as well as try and capture as many of my DIY and home improvement projects as well.

This is a collaboration with Jord Wood Watches,  I received the product shown below to review.  As always, all opinions and thoughts are 100% my own.

Sometimes quickly finding something to wear and get myself + three kiddos ready and out the door can prove a bit challenging.

I have simplified my wardrobe this year when we moved and kept only things I truly love. And as I moved things around in our closet this Fall it brought a sense of excitement to think about dressing for my favorite time of year.

During the Fall and Winter I love to mix long sweaters, tunics, leggings, a few different types of boots, scarves, and of course, some fun jewelry.

Again, I don’t have baskets and racks of jewelry but have opted for about 6 earrings, 8 bracelets, and four necklaces that are interchangeable and seem to go with everything.

Recently, I had the opportunity to review a gorgeous new watch from Jord, and I was pretty excited for it to arrive.

Usually covered in paint and shooting a “new” dresser or table, sharing my personal style was a fun new thing for me!

hello 2016 + my fave things from 2015

hello 2016.

The past year has in many ways gone by so incredibly fast.

My kids are taller, we’re all a year older.

I closed a painful chapter in my life and walked into a healthy, new life that I love.

I met a wonderful man & a best friend that would change my life forever.

I had zero time to blog, but I have a job I love, and I am trying to eek out time to begin blogging again because I feel like part of me is missing when I don’t write.

I think the part of the year that I love the most, is looking back and seeing God work things out.

In the quiet times when we have no idea how an impossible situation will be resolved.

In noisy times where we just need five minutes to ourselves so we don’t feel crazy.

In the painful moments where it doesn’t feel like hurt could ever be healed.

He has shown up and handled it.  Handled it when I could not, and gone before me not to pave a perfect straight road, but to remind me that He’s got this and I am His daughter.

And I have learned that I can survive those tough times that are no fun, and really appreciate the seasons of quiet.  That is new for me because I fee like I’ve always been in a hurry to get to the next thing.

I used to make a New Year’s Resolution each year, or choose a word.

I have decided to put zero pressure on myself and just enjoy having another year, more time and living a peaceful (yet crazy/loud/busy) life with my family.

Here are a few things I loved working on this year, and I hope this finds you blessed, at peace, and seeing the good.  Because it is everywhere and wants us to find it.

No matter what.

So here we go, a new year, and some of my favorite stuff from last year….

How to bring fragrance into your home

Disclosure: This post was sponsored by Unstopables through their partnership with POPSUGAR. While I was compensated by POPSUGAR to write a post about Unstopables, all opinions are my own.  I am so in love with the Unstopables quality that I am super excited to share how I am using them in my home!!

I love candles.  And scents for my home.

And warmth, layers of blankets & pillows ready to snuggle in and relax any time.

Sometimes you bring a new candle home or spray into you home only to find that the scent you loved so much disappears too quickly.  Or it smelled great in the store, but not so much at home.

unstop main

Not the case with the line of Unstopables for the home.  I tried the In-Wash Scent Booster in Glow, the beautiful candle in Lush (my home smells EXACTLY the way I wanted it to).  Soft, welcoming and a cozy layer of vanilla and with some cedar undertones.  And the Unstopables Air Freshener rocked those spots in the house that admittedly, can still smell a little bit like dinner the night before!

I really love that the focus is not on a giant logo either, the containers (if we are anything alike, the container is really important too) are chic and understated.  No giant logo and well, when something just smells this good it will not only be integrated into my home all the time, I don’t have to hide it behind a plant or vase.

Let’s start with the laundry first.  It’s not my favorite.

Like, I really am terrible at actually getting laundry done and put away.  But after all of that work, I want it to not only be clean, but smell good too.  I love pulling a sweater from my closet and it still smells good long after the laundry has been put away.  I could not believe the difference that Downy Unstopables In-Wash Scent Booster made! My laundry smells wonderful not only when I am folding it, but many days later too. Score!!

Oh, the candle.  I love the Unstopables candles so much.  My house smells amazing, clean, and pretty.

I want my home to be comfortable, and be a reflection of our family.  Pretty but not stuffy.

So the house smells amazing.

The laundry is all fresh and put away.

I have my candles going.

And now it’s time to relax and enjoy my clean and pretty smelling home!

Life is good.

My Modern Bohemian Style

Sauder Nico chair 3

Our homes are an extension of our being and heart.

We laugh there, snuggle there, make new friends, and connect with old friends there.

We cook, make, move things around, and formulate so many of our hopes and dreams in theses spaces we can home. That’s why it’s important for us look for things that inspire us continually, and then put our own brand on it. My worst decorating fear is that my home will look “decorated” , I hope this never happens!

It’s so fun to see multiple people be given the same project or materials, and see how very unique and different the outcome of each can be.

I was recently invited to work with Sauder on their Style Lab feature within their amazingly inspiring site. Within these pages you find tons of beautiful photos, ideas, and how each of us as bloggers has taken our favorite Sauder pieces and created a space in our home that reflects our taste and the things we love. I’m crushing on all things pagoda + chinoiserie

Oh I got a big old design crush right now.

Ok, probably like 27 of them.

But seriously, I am loving all of the Asian-inspired decor out there right now, are you?

I have always loved pagodas, bamboo, and touches of chinoiserie influenced

Here are a few things I spied this week that I had to share…

The source for this first amazing space is Lonny Mag.  Check out the herringbone floor, pagoda stools,
antique chairs mixed with a rustic table and mirrors.  BA-NA-NAS! I love it!!!

Floral leggings I {heart} for spring

This post is sponsored by toADORN, all opinions are my own.
I am crazy for flowers, bright, pretty flowers in my home, my yard, everywhere.  But I realized I never
really wear floral patterns.  With floral leggings being so hot this spring, I had to try some for myself.
When the amazing team at toADORN sent me a pair of their gorgeous leggings, I fell in love.  They are
super soft and pretty, without being overpowering.  They were just right, and now I am rethinking what
I usually wear every spring.  It’s time to spice it up and do something different.  I usually wear black
leggings and at a size 16 I wasn’t so sure I was going to love a floral pattern.  But paired with a crisp long
blouse, and layered with one of my favorite stretchy tanks & scarf I am loving how easy it was to pull
together a comfortable, trendy outfit.
Thank you so much for reading, and as always, may your heart and home be full of everything you love! xo, Tanya         linking up to: http://www.savvysouthernstyle.net/ And these awesome parties: http://www.twelveoeightblog.com/awesome-link-parties
