Chocolate Heart Krispy Treats

Why have I have never tried making
krispy treats with chocolate until now?!
Talk about combining two yummy worlds,
rich milk chocolate, cocoa
and nom-worthy marshmallow goodness.
These are EASY to make too, and would make
a great treat for a classroom Valentine party,
to bring to work, or to keep for yourself
and eat late at night while Pinning…
Not that I do that sort of thing {hee-hee}

Chocolate Heart Krispy Treats
Makes about 6-10 {depending on how large
your cookie cutter is}

Ingredients:
8 T. butter
1/4 cup of baking cocoa
10 1/2 ounce bag of mini marshmallows
1 t. vanilla extract
8 cups of krispy rice cereal
1 cup of milk chocolate chocolate chips
paper/scissors
powdered sugar for dusting
heart shaped cookie cutter
Directions:
In a large saucepan, melt butter, add cocoa and marshmallows, stirring until melted.  Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.  Add chocolate chips and stir until smooth.  Fold in cereal and spread mixture into a greased 9″ x 13″ baking pan.  I usually butter my hands and press the mixture into the pan so it is smooth.
Allow the mixture to cool completely and using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut hearts out of the pan.
I used an old greeting card and cut a heart out, setting it on top of each chocolate krispy heart, I dusted them with powdered sugar and set aside.  I like the mixture of the baking cocoa and the chocolate chips together, they have a great fudgy-chocolate flavor.  There are also not many left around here, I will make a double batch next time 🙂
{enjoy}

    Link exchange is nothing else however it is only placing the other person’s blog link on your
    page at suitable place and other person will also do same in support of you.
