I love to do projects that are both useful,
functional and inexpensive…better yet if free.
I also like to cook…because that’s what Italians dobest.

I love drop cloth. One of the most simple things you can do to
add interest to plain drop cloth (or fabric in general)
is to add some kind of writing and/or numbers.

I have added numbers and writing to several of my projects, and truthfully,
the more you do it, the more confident you’ll feel to forget the stencils
and even free hand some of your projects.

Back to today’s project,
this bench is located in our Master Bedroom,
at the foot of our bed.
Technically this was a coffee table.
I made a simple slipcover out of drop cloth a while back,
and now I have finally decided what I wanted to write on it.
I choose a simple writing with numbers.
For this project I did use these stencils I found for .10c for the entire stack…
For the numbers and letters I drew the outline with Sharpies,
and then filled it in with acrylic paint.

***You can also just use a sponge brush and acrylic paint***
And here is the end result…
(here is how the Master Bedroom looked like before)
So get some drop cloth, a stencil and let your creativity roll.

I love the way your slipcover turned out. Beautiful!
I love to use dropcloths for pillows. The dropcloth my husband bought me at Loew's feels so soft after washing.

Daniela, your master bedroom is gorgeous if you had simply showed me the pictures without prefacing it with telling me it was a basement I never would have known. The dropcloth looks very nice on that table, the plain table wouldn't look right in your beautiful room.

I was happy when I discovered blogs and that people made things out of drop cloths. I've made table runners, curtains, cushion covers out of drop cloths and love how they turn out. Easier than working with burlap, none of the mess and itchiness from the burlap. I am allergic I guess to some degree to burlap.

I love Daniela's projects! Yes, She is a master with drop cloths but I also love what she does with wood! She can fix almost anything in her home and I like that she does it the frugal way!
