DIY geometric painted brick vase

I am so not ready for Fall.

Well, that’s not entirely true.

I do love Fall, and Fall decorating and thrifty Fall crafts, but before I am ready for PUMPKIN EVERYTHING I need some more summer.

This week I popped into JoAnn’s and saw this pretty faux bloom in soft pinks and tan with a touch of gold.  It was in with their Fall decor.  I held my breath by the cinnamon pinecones to protect myself from a full Fall takeover, grabbed my loot and headed home.

I wanted to do something pretty with this fluffy faux rose and it made me think of how pretty something soft like this looks with something more edgy or utilitarian.

Like a brick.

The brick has sat for weeks and I have not been sure exactly what I want to do but it all came together when this flower came home.

Here is what I used to make my Geometric Painted Brick “Vase”:

  • One brick and a masonary drill bit/drill that will make a small hole for your “vase” in the brick
  • Gold acrylic paint
  • Foam brush
  • Tape like painters tape or masking tape
  • Faux flower, bloom or succulent of your choice

I began by make a small hole in the brick just big enough for the flower stem and greenery.

I trimmed them down and they fit perfect.

Next I taped off my design and painted the gold in the areas I wanted to have filled in.

Forgive the photos it was getting dark and I was so excited!!

A little dry time, and I plunked my pretty bloom and greenery into their new home, and voila!

A super easy project that use can use in so many ways.

Thank you so much for reading friend, hugs and more hugs!

Stay crafty-

xo, Tanya

I have been surfing online more than 4 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like
yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my view, if all
web owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the net will be much more
    useful than ever before.

This is beautiful and so genius! I love the brick with the soft flower and the gold accent, it´s really really pretty! I feel the same about fall, lol, I had to laugh about holding in your breath at the cinnamon pinecones… 🙂 I´m fighting for fall not to get me yet, because it´s “only” August and the other day my daughter wanted a cinnamon toast and there I was in total fall mood 😉
