Hello readers of twelveOeight! It is Krista from the happy housie back again and excited to be here sharing a fun project for fall… super easy and adorable gold crackle pumpkins.
DIY Gold Crackle Pumpkins by thehappyhousie
To make these you will need: – faux pumpkins (I used ceramic ones from the dollar store but you could likely use the foam ones as well) – gold paint (I used spray paint but I am certain you could use gold multi-surface craft paint instead) – crackle medium – white/cream craft paint (or any other colour you like – I used Summer Linen by Martha Stewart) – craft paint brushes
Here are the little ceramic pumpkins pre-crackle-goldifying…

I gave them a quick couple coats of this and let dry…

Here they are in all their gold splendor. You could even leave them just like this… but I really wanted to give a crackly finish a go…

P1120630
I applied a coat of this crackle medium and let it dry….
P1120609

Then I used some of my Martha Stewart Summer Linen multi-surface craft paint over top of the crackle… it immediately let the gold show through beautifully.

P1120631
Once they were all dry I gave them a quick coat of a glossy spray sealer to provide a little extra shine.
So easy!!

Oh, and that little blue cloche you see above was another recent project… I made it out of a hurricane lantern that I picked up at the dollar store! Check out how over at The Happy Housie. I would love to have you drop by and visit me there! And if you want to know what the next fall project might be… check out my board A Fall Chill on Pinterest – or follow along with me there!
Thanks Tanya for having me here today! It is always so much fun to connect with you readers of Twelve O Eight!
Thanks for reading! And remember my housie friends, HOME isn’t built in a day. Enjoy the journey.
