I probably have too many projects going at once right now (2 full space re-do’s and
like 723 DIY ideas) but with summer approaching, I can no longer ignore our
patio.

It’s pretty lame.  Here is a sneak peak at the patio of shame.
It’s gross y’all.

Ok, you have been sufficiently warned:

Yep, that’s my paint covered table.  I used it apparently a few too many times without
proper covering.

Who wants to relax in the evening on icky outdoor furniture, or even worse,
invite someone over to sit on the icky furniture?

Ummmmmm, no.

It was at the “more than I can bear” stage last year, but because it is still
structurally sound, and just needs some cosmetic work, I felt like she
might have another summer or two in her.  Plus, I don’t really want to
buy new patio furniture.  Then I can’t get all of the pretty stuff I want
to decorate and make my patio a palatial space of leisure and all ready for
impromptu Latin dance parties!

I want this space to be bright, and exotic, and gorgeous.  More on the patio
space later, the reveal will hopefully be ready in the next couple of weeks.
The table and chairs have been scrubbed, painted, and I am working hard
on tons of pretty and shiny things to make my backyard feel like my own
little slice of paradise.

On a budget.

Think I can do it?

Here is the first project I made, and it will give you a little hint as to what
has inspired me…exotic colors and tribal elements galore.
I can’t wait to show you!!

Until then, let’s make some Moroccan inspired coasters…

I used these stencils by PLAID and I love this particular pattern, which reminds me of Moroccan
tiles.  The green will ground some of the bright colors I am using in the patio area (I hope) plus green
is like a neutral anyways, don’t you think?

I used a sponge paint pouncer to apply the paint, applying just a bit at a time and
removed the stencil allowing each coaster to dry before use.

I really like the way they turned out, wouldn’t something like this make a fun
hostess gift or surprise for a friend just because?
Or you can make them for yourself and the next set you will share.  Probably.
I’m not judging…
I found the cork coasters, paint and brush at JoAnn’s, and the package of
stencils from Walmart.
The snarky comments and gross patio are 100% mine.
I am off to do some more sewing, scrubbing & painting.
I can’t wait to share with you how it is all coming together soon!!

Have a blessed & wonderful day friends, love you SO!
