Gilded Washi {Dollar Store} Binder Clips

I realized this weekend that I have never done a washi tape post.

Like, not one.

So while I was cleaning (yes, the craft hoard is a mess.  again) I found a few pretty rolls I had picked up a while ago.  And if you give a girl some boring office supplies, some washi tape, and toss in some paint…

Y’all are going to get some pretty office supplies for your desk or work area.  For $1 plus paint and tape.  Let’s make stuff.

Yeah.  That’s kind of what I was thinking too when I brought these home recently.  They are basic, but I’m not
super excited about using them in my workspace.  So, this will be the fastest craft ever, here is what I did.

Supplies:

  • Medium or large binder clips (I picked mine up at Dollar Tree)
  • Gold spray paint or color of your choice
  • Washi tape in colors/designs of your choice

Directions:

  • Spray paint binder clips on both sides, allowing them to dry well
  • Add washi tape strips to each side of the binder clip & store them in a pretty bowl

And that’s it.  I’m going to make a few sets of these and keep them on hand for an impromptu hostess gift or surprise
for a friend.

I saw these the other day when I got your email update while waiting to pick up my little girl from school and I’ve been meaning to come over and tell you how much I love them! They look so fancy! Adding this to my office to do list! Oh….and pinning!

      Hi Erlene!
It is really fun to add to basic items, you wonder how you survived before covering everything in paint and glitter 🙂
      Have a great week- xo

I love this simple and fun idea! I’m going to have to do this with my washi tape and clips! My friends and I started a lifestyle link party where we focus on interior design, health, fashion, beauty, and things we find inspirational! You’d be the perfect person to link up to our party, here’s the url: http://www.frysauceandgrits.com/2014/03/beyoutiful-link-party-10.html

Hello from “NiftyThriftySunday” linkup. I can’t decide what is my favorite feature – that you painted the binder clips gold or added the washi tape detailing?! What a great idea and combination of ideas. I love all things to do with stationery and paper and these would be a great addition to any home office. I am ‘pinning’ for sure. 🙂
