How To Make Sparkle Snow With 2 Ingredients

Glitter is gorgeous all year, but in the winter when it’s cold (or colder) outside there is nothing better than sparkly pretty things to warm your home. I have seen a few variations of this over the years but I have found a formula that works very well.

And it sticks like cement to what you apply it to, and looks sooo pretty!

Here is what I used to make Sparkle Snow:

  • Glitter in  your color of choice, I used a glitter that was clear and looked like crushed glass. I bought it in a container labeled “diamond dust” at a local thrift store, but I have seen similar glitter at most craft stores
  • Mod-Podge in the matte formula
  • A paper plate and foam craft brush
  • Container of your choice.  This would work great on a dollar store vase, or a jar like I used.  I kept one of those huge pickle jars knowing it would come in handy.  See a little hoarding is sometimes good for you!
I poured a mixture of half glitter and half Mod-Podge onto a paper plate and mixed with my foam brush.  I applied a thick coat to the outside only of my jar and set it in a safe place to dry and set overnight.  It will look kind of uneven and a bit chunky in places, just smooth it out the best you can with your brush.  You want a few areas where it is more dense so it looks more like real snow that has landed on your gorgeous jar. Don’t worry if it looks like you smeared some white paste on your jar and you are tempted to wash it off.  Wait until it fully dries and it should look like the picture below.  Easy right?

Oooh you are going to love the results friend!  I have been staring at my glitter collection and looking around for my next sparkle project.

Anyhow, I’m certainly happy I discovered it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back regularly!
