My Valentine Wreath

Every year I have such a hard time waiting past January 1st to go nuts and begin making tons of stuff for Valentine’s Day.  I don’t think I am alone in this as I am seeing soooo many cute projects out there right now!

I have a wreath on every door, and the backs of many doors, the door to the pantry, and garage, and now I find myself layering wreaths with mirrors etc..How can you not love super easy and beautiful projects that don’t take much time or supplies to make? That was definitely the case with my latest project.  This one was so fun to make and super easy, you ready?

Here is what I used:

1 yard of chevron pattern cotton fabric
1/8 yard of contrasting fabric for the hanger
4 pieces of hot pink felt
Glittered pastel hearts (Dollar Store)
Pool noodle (Dollar Store from summertime)
Scissors, tape, hot glue, iron

Directions:

I began with my strip of contrasting fabric, folding a small section on each side in and pressing well for a smooth edge.  I set this piece aside while I worked on the chevron fabric.  Cutting the fabric in 4″ wide strips, and using the entire yard gave me plenty of fabric to cover my wreath base perfectly.  If you have a pool noodle to use as your base, simply connect the ends with strong tape.  They make a great wreath base.  If not, any wreath base will work great, especially if the edges are smooth to give the fabric a nice smooth finish.
I glued one end of a strip down, and overlapping slightly, wrapped each strip around the base, gluing into place as I went.  Working my way around the entire base until I was done, and out of fabric too.

Next I folded each piece of felt lengthwise and cut two large circles out of each piece.
I folded them in half, and ran a thin line of hot glue along the edge as in the picture about, then pinched each piece together to hold.

I repeated this step again so each piece would be folded twice, and when I opened them up each made a pretty, soft rose by twisting the center and gluing the “petals” here and there to get them to hold and look pretty.  Flipping down the outside edge gave each flower a full bloom look.  They were really cute!

I glued the pink sparkly hearts together in a few groups like this…

And along with a group of felt roses on each side, attached them with glue around the wreath.  Tying the hanger around the top in a knot and trimming the excess fabric next, and I was done.  Now I just needed to find room for my new wreath!

I am really loving the combination of the bold black and white chevron behind the soft flowers and hearts.  I think the project may have cost about $8 total, not too shabby 🙂

Thank you so much for crafting and creating with me today!! I cannot wait to share the amazing projects that have been linked up this week at the Pretty Things Link Party.  It opens every Monday night at 5pm PST, save the date and join the party!!!
xoxo, Tanya

Now, how can anyone not think this is cute?! I dare ya'! Love this! I have made one of these noodle wreaths as well, and it was quite popular on my blog. Can hardly wait until Summer comes to pick up more noddles, and I think I just may make one of these for next Valentine's day because yours is just sweet! By the way, the nails aren't too shabby either!

I just love the black and white chevron with the pink hearts! Often if I'm wearing all black I throw in a little hot pink cami or belt for fun. 🙂 Great job!

I absolutely love your blog and find the majority of your post’s to be
precisely what I’m looking for. Does one offer guest writers to write content in your case?
I wouldn’t mind publishing a post or elaborating on a lot of the subjects you write
    about here. Again, awesome website!
