Dollar Store, how I love thee…
There are so many crafting and art supplies to be found at the local Dollar Store it boggles the mind.  My favorite things to pick up are items that would probably cost me four to five times as much at a craft supply or fabric store.

For this project I used a glass vase and flowers both from the Dollar Store.
In addition I used two 12″ x 12″ sheets of scrap book paper, a scrap of crocheted cotton lace trim, scrolly crafting scissors, hot glue, thin jute twine, and a little metal bracket that I found recently at
Jo Ann’s.  Normally any number would be great, as I love anything with numbers on it and some chipping paint is good too.  But a 14? Perfect!

First I folded the darker paper in half, cut a heart shape out and wrapped it around the glass vase, attaching in the back with hot glue.  The second, lighter piece went around the top as a band.  After that I ran the twine through each side of the metal tag, and attached it to the vase.

Using a few dabs of hot glue, I gathered the cotton lace trim and pinching it together formed a loose rose, and attached it to the side with a little bit of hot glue.

Something sweet and pretty, and thrifty to enjoy.  Or give as a gift to someone special.

Thank you for crafting with me today, I cannot wait to see what YOU have been making this week!

See you tonight at 5pm PST for the

xoxo, Tanya

This is really pretty, and so simple (and cheap – I love cheap!) I'm having a Valentine's Craft Party with some girlfriends soon – this might be what we make! Made my way to you from The 36th Avenue. 🙂
