I seem to be on a bit of a upcycling trend lately, but I just cannot help passing up a good deal while thrifting! I recently found this little red napkin and silverware caddy for $1.99. I liked the shape, and besides a bit of dust, it appeared to be new.
I used some Krylon Ocean Breeze I had on hand already, and did three coats, allowing each to dry for about 30 minutes in between.
Wishing you a wonderful, long summer full of lazy evenings relaxing with family and friends. A big glass of iced tea, and a good book by your side.

You already know that I like cutlery caddies and this makeover is fantastic! It's amazing to see how different it can look with just paint and some sanding.
Great tip to add some white paint in between stencils to cover up some of the red peeking through.
Have fun taking it outside!

Very cute and love the color!
I found a similar caddy with 6 removable cups that could be filled with utensils and napkins. I had a grand vision of doing exactly what you described, carrying the caddy outside easily before we sat down to a delicious dinner. But, alas, my boys have commandeered my caddy and I have a mild suspicion they have peed in one or all of them…
When I'm less mad, I'll clean them

Wow! I am your 31st commenter here! This is the best upcycle I have seen in a long time. The stencil really adds some pizzazz.I have a silverware caddy similar to yours and I love how simple it makes dinner parties. We rarely have formal sit-down affairs so my metal, vintage-looking one always fits the bill!
