Twiggy Book Page Wreath

I have a large glided mirror in my entry way that I really want to hang a wreath on as we transition from Thanksgiving to Christmas, but everything I tried just did not work.  Each wreath I tried was either too colorful, too big, too small, and just plain wonky.  So, out came the poor old book I keep clipping pages out of and some craft scissors.  And of course the chocolate, Diet Coke and hot glue.  I am taking time away from not planning Thanksgiving to craft.  I know, if I am not careful we will be eating KFC next week.  I really need to figure out our menu…pretty soon…maybe later today.

I used a scrolly edge pair of scrap booking scissors to cut out different sized leaves and glued them around a grapevine wreath with some additional wild looking twigs.  Using hot glue I arranged them on the front, back and sides of the wreath so they would look natural.  As natural as book pages can look on a wreath 🙂

Next I tucked in a couple little white winter picks and a little sparkly nest with eggs in it that I have been saving.  I added a sheer green ribbon on the back, and tempted to continue gluing pretty things all over my new wreath, I liked it like this.  Since it is going to be hanging in front of a fairly ornate mirror, it has a little sparkle, and some natural elements to balance to over-the-top mirror that my family is not too sure about.  It’s a thrift store find that is exactly like the one Emily Clark found too.  If it’s good enough for Emily Clark, then it’s good enough for me.  It’s picure #7 of 55 in her home tour from her last house.  She is amazing by the way.  If she ever puts her home on the market, I would be happy just to tour it, take lots of stalker-type photos and try to get her to autograph my glue gun.  A girl can dream!

Thank you for reading, and your sweet messages.  They really mean so much and help give me ideas for what we can make together next.  You all give me so much inspiration!!  Until next time hugs & blessings to you and your family,

xoxo, Tanya

As soon as I saw the book page wreath on Design, Dining & Diapers I had to catch the link and get the how-to.
I am a paper crafter mostly but love projects I can use other materials and something different. I have all the supplies to make this wreath right now so am going to make it to send to oldest son and his love. It's so gorgeous as well as sophisticated. I have to go hunt up
